How to deploy the Record Validation Entry page (in Salesforce Classic)

In order to make use of Record Validation upon inserting or editing a record, you have to replace your current entry page with the Record Validation Entry page. This how-to will show you how in a few simple steps.

Step 1 Deploy Record Validation Entry for Leads

Override the "New" button.

1.1 Navigate to the Salesforce Setup.
1.2 Navigate to Build - Customize - Leads - Buttons, Links and Actions.
1.3 Find the 'New' button and click 'Edit'. 
1.4 At 'Override With', select 'Visualforce Page'. 
1.5 At the available Visualforce pages, select 'rv2EntryLead'.
1.6 Click Save.

1.7 Find the 'Edit' button and click 'Edit'. 
1.8 At 'Override With', select 'Visualforce Page'. 
1.9 At the available Visualforce pages, select 'rv2EntryLead'.
1.10 Click Save.  

Step 2 Deploy Record Validation Entry for Contacts

Override the "New" button.

2.1 Navigate to the Salesforce Setup.
2.2 Navigate to Build - Customize - Contacts - Buttons, Links and Actions.
2.3 Find the 'New' button and click 'Edit'. 
2.4 At 'Override With', select 'Visualforce Page'. 
2.5 At the available Visualforce pages, select 'rv2EntryContact'.
2.6 Click Save.

2.9 At the available Visualforce pages, select 'rv2EntryContact'.
2.10 Click Save.  

Step 3 Deploy Record Validation Entry for Accounts

3.2 Navigate to Build - Customize - Accounts - Buttons, Links and Actions.
3.3 Find the 'New' button and click 'Edit'. 
3.4 At 'Override With', select 'Visualforce Page'. 
3.5 At the available Visualforce pages, select 'rv2EntryAccount'.
3.6 Click Save.

You have now deployed the Record Validation entry page. You are now ready to validate your data upon entering a new Lead, Contact or Account.
